Glenvista High visited by Gauteng Department of Education

“Education will help you get anywhere you want to be,” said Nkomo-Ralehoko.

On January 29, the district director for the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE), Vincent Ndlovu, visited Glenvista High School to speak to the learners and their parents.

Ndlovu was joined by the MEC for Finance and E-governance in Gauteng, Nomatu Nkomo-Ralehoko, as well as the head of department for the GDE, Dr Sandile Ndlungwane.

Nkomo-Ralehoko, with the GDE, launched an exchange programme where learners from poor areas come to Glenvista High on a Saturday to get extra classes to help them pass their matric year.

“We give honour to the 2021 matric class from Glenvista High and hope they will inspire the Class of 2022 to do just as well. We made no mistake when we appointed Thabile Morgan as the principal of this school,” said Ndlovu.

Next up to speak to the learners and their parents were Nkomo-Ralehoko.

“I encourage everyone to try their best this year. We as the Department of Finance and E-governance will ensure we connect all schools and ensure there is enough PPE for every school in Gauteng. Education will help you get anywhere you want to be,” said Nkomo-Ralehoko.
