SAPS addresses learners on fighting

Officers from Brackendowns SAPS Vispol visited Creative Academy on February 28 to speak to the learners about fighting.

The talks started with fun with the children learning how to identify real police officers.

The talks, however, moved to a more serious subject with the officers addressing the learners on bad behavior, bullying, fighting and hitting each other and their teachers.

“The children were hanging on the the officer’s words and it seems as if the hammer surely hit the nail,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius.

“It is important to educate children at such a young age about respect and discipline because after all, they are our future leaders teachers and even law enforcement officers. Our children are precious and it is our responsibility to build a strong foundation in their lives.”

The children were also taught the 10111 and 112 emergency numbers and told how important it was to remember the numbers.
