Glenvista-based Wendy Mashinini Foundation is in need of donations
The organisation is pleading for donations to help those in need.
The Glenvista-based Wendy Mashinini Foundation, which works to increase public awareness of illnesses that affect the kidneys and other related conditions, needs donations to help raise funds to buy dialysis machines.
According to Wendy Mashinini, the foundation’s founder, the organisation has held numerous charity drives to raise awareness of issues affecting renal health, such as organ trafficking and organ donation.
“We’ve been assisting families in need and have done matric dance dress and clothing drives,” said Mashinini.
Mashinini said they are a community-based organisation that isn’t limited to health.
“We are always in need of more assistance in obtaining donations for our children’s home, which houses paediatric renal patients who stay there and are receiving dialysis three times a week.
“We have a list of things that the home requires. Another organisation approached us about an orphanage that needs toiletries, with the youngest children aged four and the oldest aged 18,” said Mashinini.
