Laerskool President Steyn learner excels in art contest
Jakinta Steyn of Laerskool President Steyn was proudly announced winner in the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest just recently.
The Alberton Lions Club was pleased to hand Jakinta Steyn its district’s third-place prize in the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest.
Jakinta, a learner from Laerskool President Steyn was one of the participants from local schools that took part in the contest sponsored by the Alberton Lions Club.
According to Tammy du Plooy of Alberton Lions, Lions around the world sponsored this special art contest.
“The theme was Lead with Compassion and the youth were given the opportunity to create peace posters which capture the theme. It is then displayed at a district level, from which a district winner is chosen to represent the district in the international leg of the competition,” she explained.
Alberton Lions Club thanked President Steyn and Kenton Primary for their participation in the contest, as well as art teachers for their efforts in facilitating the competition at schools.
