Balwin Padel hosts media day at Thaba Eco Lifestyle Centre

The media enjoyed a day of Padel coaching and informal rounds with colleagues.

Balwin Padel hosted a media coaching session with Willy Lahoz, the winner of two world Padel championship titles, and Sebastian Brokmann, the chief of Padel at Balwin.

Padel, a mixture of tennis, squash, and badminton, is the fastest-growing sport globally, with over 25 million players in more than 90 countries, according to Padelathletes.com.

Introduced to SA in late 2020, Padel boasts more than 100 000 players nationwide through the Playtomic platform.

“SA currently has 400 courts, with the potential to grow to about 2 500,” said Brokmann.

The event aimed to give the media a Padel experience with expert coaching. Lahoz explained the sport’s basics during the mini-coaching session, after which the media teams competed against each other.

Balwin Properties also gave the media a tour of Thaba Eco Estate Lifestyle Centre’s amenities and residential development.
