“We want to promote literacy among learners in our local schools. The learners need to be able to read and understand. This will help them navigate life and seize opportunities,” said Focus-Team JHB secretary Yvonne Reddy.
The beneficiaries included Palmridge Primary, Forest High, the Little Ones’ Educare Centre, Die Fakkel High, Kenilworth High, and Suidheuwels, Die Mossie, La Rochelle, Turffontein and Voorbrand primary schools.

According to the NPO, the books will boost literacy and language skills, improve academic performance and expand imagination and critical thinking.
Focus-Team JHB’s directors thanked the sponsors and volunteers for contributing to the initiative.
The organisation continues to work towards building stronger communities through various projects, including soup kitchens and food parcel programmes planned for the future.
