Gaming enthusiasts can gear up for an action-packed weekend as the MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience arrives at The Glen Shopping Centre from June 26 to 28, bringing one of South Africa’s biggest esports tournaments to the South of Johannesburg.

Now in its fourth year, the MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience is the country’s only gaming tournament hosted at shopping malls nationwide.

The competition gives seasoned gamers, first-time competitors and spectators the opportunity to experience competitive gaming while competing for a share of the series’ R350 000 total prize pool.

The tournament begins with an EA FC 26™ online qualifier on June 21, where the top four players will earn direct entry into The Glen Mall Final.

During the in-centre event, players will also have another chance to qualify through one of 12 in-centre heats.

The winner of The Glen Mall Final will receive a R2 500 mall gift card and secure a place in the National Football Final, where competitors will battle for a share of a R50 000 prize pool. Second and third-place finishers will receive mall gift cards valued at R1 500 and R1 000, respectively.

To EA FC 26™, visitors can compete in Beat Saber, Brawlhalla, Tekken and Street Fighter 6, with more mall gift cards available for winners. The event will also feature a PC Gaming Zone, free-play stations and the exciting Keyboard Rebuild Race, ensuring entertainment throughout the three-day event.

The MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience will take place at Cappello Court (Entrance 3) at The Glen Shopping Centre.

Following The Glen event, the tournament will continue its national tour with stops at Table Bay Mall, Clearwater, Capegate and Canal Walk before the national finals.
