“If you want it, go for it. Take a risk. Don’t always play it safe, or you will die wondering.” – Unknown
Risk is defined as an exposure to the possibility of loss, injury, or other adverse or unwelcome circumstance. In one of my previous articles, I wrote about FEAR, and I said it is False Expectation Appearing Real. An expectation is a strong belief that something will happen and mostly, yes I said mostly, it doesn’t happen.
Dr David Viscott wrote a book entitled ‘Risking’, in which he said, “If you cannot take a risk, you cannot grow; If you cannot grow, you cannot be your best; If you cannot be your best, you cannot be happy and if you cannot be happy, what else matters?” This simply means that your true potential, abilities, and happiness can only be revealed by doing things that you never did before, that is the only way to discover the real you that is lying dormant in yourself. The real you lies outside your comfort zone.
The very same wall that you build around you to prevent and protect you from getting hurt by the outside world is the one that prevents you from discovering the true you, true happiness and many other wonderful possibilities life has for you. The reason I am alive today is to make you aware that risk is worth taking if you are to live life to the fullest which is what this life is all about. Don’t let the false expectations take you on a wild trip and deprive you of your happiness and possibilities that come from discovering who you really are.
Life is about self-discovery and this self-discovery comes from trying new things and building experiences. Get out of your comfort zone.
