“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4: 7
These words are intensely extraordinary to be able to repeat them at the end of your life. To me, they represent success; they truly represent peace of mind and serenity. They say even though I may face death in the eye, I have no regrets; I did what I had to do and what I was meant to do.
I fought the good fight – I fought for my life; I fought for my dreams; I fought for my goals; I fought for my good health; I fought for my ideals; I fought for what was right; I fought for my family. I did not run away from my responsibilities.
I fought for a good career that would bless my family and the world; I fought to protect my company – I treated it with the utmost respect as if it were my own.
I chose to fight because there is no substitute for a good fight. I learnt there is no statue in the world that was ever erected in honour of those who complain or blame or criticise.
If you want something valuable in life, you’ve got to fight for it. Fighting a good fight requires deep faith that things are going to be better at the end, and so you are inspired to finish the course. Do not just stroll or tip-toe through life, fight like crazy and keep the faith.
