ALBERTON can expect to see some all-out mixed martial arts (MMA) action in May.

On Saturday, May 6, Fightstar, a professional and amateur MMA organisation, comes to the Apache Night Club in Alberton.

MMA fighters from all over South Africa, as well as from other parts of Africa, will converge on this awesome venue to battle against each other.

All fights are sanctioned by Mixed Martial Arts South Africa.

“With two titles on the stacked fight card, Fightstar 23 is going to be another epic event, promising an action-packed night of top fights,” said Fightstar matchmaker Grant Oliff.

Fightstar is the African affiliate of WSOF (World Series Of Fighting) Global, one of the top five MMA organisations globally. It supports the Fighting Fit Africa development programme, which encourages the youth to participate in sport and fitness activities.

“It’s all about developing our youth and providing an alternative to the streets. Our team is working towards making them their best,” said Fightstar partner Pietro Cignoli.
