Thrilling Finale caps off Highveld Feature Season at Turffontein

The Championship Finale at Turffontein marked the spectacular end to the Highveld Feature Season, with an exciting 11-race card showcasing top-class racing.

The Finale displayed the exceptional talent and skill of top South African trainers, jockeys, and horses, bringing the Highveld Feature Season to a triumphant close.

The event featured seven feature races, including the Pretty Polly Stakes, Protea Stakes, and Colorado King Stakes.

Trainer Sean Tarry dominated the day, securing four graded race wins. His Drakenstein Stud-bred filly, One Fine Winter, won the Pretty Polly Stakes, while Craig Zackey and Green Diamond took the Protea Stakes.

Tarry outlined the dedication it took to win four races, “We have been working hard the entire season, and it has paid off.”

Tarry’s winning streak continued with Mia Moo in the Camellia Stakes and Let’s Go Now in the Colorado King Stakes, both ridden by top jockeys.

The day’s racing had thrilling performances, including a closely contested Listed Gold Bowl, where Taxhaven edged out Tarry’s stable stalwart by a narrow margin.
