SAPS advise sex workers

The sexworkers were also visited and were educated about the dangers of being a prostitute and were also encouraged to go back home.

MOFFATVIEW – SAPS communications officer, Constables Rebecca Bila, informed the Southern COURIER that the police continue to advise sex workers to go back home.

This come after the Moffatview SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit, sector managers and women’s forums showed their support for the 16 days of activism against women and children in December 2014. The group also visited South Hills Clinic, Pick n Pay Steeldale, The Glen, City Deep and Rosettenville, to educate people about abuse and encourage them, to speak out if they are abused.

“Sex workers were also visited and were educated about the dangers of being a prostitute. They were also encouraged to go back home. We were also joined by councilor Faeeza Chame at the South Hills Clinic,” said Officer Bila.
