South Africa’s most popular show, Our Perfect Wedding (OPW) switches gears with the new season in its regular time slot, Sundays at 19:00 on Mzansi Magic, DStv – Channel 161.

Comedienne Tumi Morake is set to close season 5 with a 13 episode special which sees the programme sponsor ABSA giving away R10 000 to the couples getting married. Hot on the heels of the fifth season, Our Perfect Wedding introduces a spectacular new season and the excitement of a new presenter early in 2016. So who will take the torch from Tumi Morake?

Actress, businesswoman, singer and writer, Thembisa Mdoda joins Mzansi Magic as the new host for season 6 of Our Perfect Wedding. She is a born creative whose love for words has seen her flourish in the media industry.

Thembisa Mdoda has started recording for the new and electrifying sixth season of Our Perfect Wedding. “I am ecstatic about joining OPW. I love the show and what it stands for. I love, love and I look forward to celebrating it with as many couples as I possibly can,” she said.

Almost on the verge of wrapping up its fifth season, Our Perfect Wedding was previously hosted by Ayanda Mpama (season 5), Tumi Morake (season 4) Phumeza Mdabe (season 3), Brenda Ngxoli (season 2) and Thuli Thabethe (season 1) with each presenter bringing their own unique flair, personalities, fresh voices and different styles to the show. Each episode of the show introduces audiences to an engaged couple as they make their final preparations ahead of their wedding day. With everything from behind-the-scenes drama to heart-warming ceremonies, OPW documents ordinary South Africans on their journey to create their Perfect Wedding.

“We are thrilled to have Thembisa join OPW. Each season we introduce a new presenter and she is the perfect fit for the sixth season,” said Sphumelele Sibeko, Head of Reality Programming for Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.
