Holiday Fun at Carnival City

CARNIVAL City recently unveiled an exciting, grassed children’s outdoor play area with modern climbing frames in Carnival City’s Pocket Park, just in time for the December festivities.

The aim was to replace the miniature golf course in the park, just outside the Magic Company, which serves as a welcome diversion for young visitors.

The brightly coloured, circling structures feature obstacles for children to climb and slides to zoom down while parents take a breather on one of the benches. There is no cost to scramble and climb in the Pocket Park. Refreshments and meals are available nearby.

From December 10 to January 10, free circus workshops for children will be staged daily (except Christmas day) from 12:00 to 17:00 in the Pocket Park area. Youngsters can learn to fly the trapeze, walk the tightrope, and tumble on the trampoline, juggle and so much more.

“We are very excited about the playground in our Pocket Park as well as the other facilities and activities we have extended for younger visitors. Exciting, robust, colourful and challenging; the climbing frames and slides offer young children a place to expend some of their energy outdoors. The revitalised Pocket Park is part of our promise to deliver a diverse range of entertainment and activities for visitors of all ages” says Annemie Turk, Carnival City’s general manager.

Carnival City recently became home to the brand new Thunder Eagle Spur and Panarottis. The restaurants share a large kids’ play area. The 192m² space features play modulars and plenty of kids’ entertainment, making it an ideal venue for family get-togethers and parties. The restaurants each have their own separate seating, with a capacity of 324 and 186 diners respectively.

There is also a choice of family friendly entertainment to enjoy including laser games at the Lazer Zone, Go-Karting on a simulated Grand Prix circuit, arcade games at the Magic Company, the latest movies at Ster Kinekor and ten pin bowling. Other outdoor activities include rides for smaller children and carnival stalls where youngsters can take a stab at winning prizes.
