Taxi and car collide in Ridgeway, leaving 16 injured

"The patients were treated and transported to various hospitals for further care."

Sixteen people were injured when a light motor vehicle and taxi collided on the N12 east-bound in Ridgeway on October 2.

ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene at 8.10am to find the taxi lying on its side in the middle of the road. The light motor vehicle was found parked a short distance away.

ER24 communications officer Russel Meiring said, “Medics assessed the patients and found one person had sustained serious injuries while at least 15 others had sustained minor to moderate injuries. 

“The patients were treated and transported to various hospitals for further care. “The details surrounding this incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
