16 dogs, seven chickens rescued from abuse in Meyersdal
SPCA investigation leads to 16 dogs and seven chickens being saved in Meyersdal.
Multiple dogs and chickens were rescued from abuse in Meyersdal on December 3.
Members from SAPS and EMPD assisted the Alberton SPCA to remove animals from the premises after investigations found contraventions of the Animal Protection Act.
In total, 16 dogs and seven chickens were rescued.
“The animals were in a very bad shape and investigations led the members from the SPCA to apply for a warrant to remove the animals,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius, spokesperson for Brackendowns SAPS.
“The animals were taken to the Alberton SPCA for assessments and a criminal case is to follow.”
