Man nabbed for possession of hijacked vehicle
Police recovered a white Hyundai H100 truck that was hijacked in Kliprivier earlier this month.
Katlehong police arrested a man for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle on January 9 at Kwanele Section in Katlehong.
They spotted a white Hyundai H100 truck while they were conducting a stop-and-search operation.
According to Katlehong SAPS spokesperson Mega Ndobe, the police had to force the driver to pull over before they could search the vehicle. While they searched the vehicle, they discovered that it was hijacked in Kliprivier earlier this month.
The suspect was arrested and detained in Katlehong police station.
Katlehong station commander Brig Albertina Vesi said she is highly impressed with the police members.
“This should be a lesson to the criminals that the long arm of the law is flexing its muscles. They can run but cannot hide,” said Vesi.
The suspect arrested appeared in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on January 11.
