Four arrested for armed robbery and attempted murder
A man was robbed of his cellphone and stabbed in his chest and shoulder.
Officers from Fox Security arrested four suspects on March 15 in Iris Street in Brackenhurst.
“Our officers responded to reports of a robbery and upon arrival, a male victim was found to have been robbed of his cellphone and stabbed in his chest and shoulder,” said operations manager Elowayne Gouws.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by a family member.
While searching for the suspects, reaction units spotted them on Swartkoppies Road passing the Mall of the South.
“We gave chase and requested back-up. The vehicle was stopped on the R550 close to Zakariyya Park with the help of JMPD,” said Gouws.
Officers found a toy gun, a knife and the victim’s cellphone in their possession.
The suspects were taken to Brackendowns SAPS.
“Well done to all involved,” said Gouws.
