JMPD TRU responds to hit-and-run complaint in Rosettenville

The JMPD Tactical Response Unit (JMPD TRU) made a breakthrough, impounding a minibus at Mulbarton Taxi Rank suspected in a hit-and-run incident.

JMPD Tactical Response Unit (TRU) showed their commitment to public safety as they swiftly responded to a hit-and-run complaint in Rosettenville.

According to the spokesperson of JMPD, Superintendent Xolani Fihla, the incident involved a minibus sought in connection with a Booysens case.

“The team received the complaint and immediately initiated an investigation to apprehend the responsible party.
“While patrolling the streets of Rosettenville, TRU received a distress call regarding a minibus allegedly involved in a hit-and-run case in the Booysens area. With the safety of the community in mind, the TRU team wasted no time and promptly began their search for the vehicle in question.

“The efforts of the TRU team led them to the Mulbarton Taxi Rank, where they successfully located the minibus. The vehicle was found parked at the rank, raising suspicions about the driver’s involvement in the reported hit-and-run incident,” said Fihla.

Fihla said despite locating the minibus, the driver was nowhere to be found. This added another layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.

“TRU secured the scene and impounded the vehicle for further examination,” said Fihla.
