The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Pimville and Klipsruit branches recently began their election campaigns.
Party volunteers and agents posted election banners throughout the township.
According to the party spokesperson, Tshepo Vana the party aims to stamp its authority not only in the township but also in the province.
He said the party distances itself from recent violent protests in different townships.
“We urge our supporters to refrain from any form if vandalism and intimidation during the election process,” he said.
He said the party also established two branch command teams in ward 22 and ward 25.
“The command team mandate is to grow the party’s footprint in the area,” he said.
