A 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death at the Zone 11 hostel last Tuesday.
The police said they were called to the scene, constable Sibusiso Chauke said it is not yet clear why the man was killed.
“We are appealing to the community to give information that may help with the investigation,” he said.
There has been a string of mob justice incidents in Meadowlands, the police said they condemn people taking the law in their own hands.
“The excuse that the community is tired of crime is no excuse to break the law.
“Those that are found to be involved in such crimes will have to face the full might of the law,” Chauke said.
