As part of its community initiatives Soweto TV donated four hundred thousand to four charities for the role they play in the development of the Soweto Community.
At the galla event that was held at Protea South Multipurpose the four beneficiaries were awarded hundred thousand each. The beneficiaries are
· Tokologo Self-Help Centre for the quadriplegics
· Orlando Children’s Home
· Othandweni Children’s Home
· Soweto Home for the Aged
The cheques were given to the representatives of the four beneficiaries by the board Chairman Meshack Mosia and channel founder and board member Tshepo Thafeng. The event was also attend by Soweto TV stakeholders and partners including community radio stations like Jozi FM
