Councillor of Ward 48, Jacquie Lekgetho said in a public meeting held at PJ Simelane Secondary School on April 9 that it is important that people get their houses.
Lekgetho was referring to those who first applied for housing subsidies during the period 1996/97.
A campaign of verifying the number of applicants for housing subsidies is being done by the City of Johannesburg.
She said City officials have been going house-to-house in her ward to gather data of 96/97 applicants.
At least 158 Dobsonville residents were found to have registered for the housing subsidy in ward 48.
“People must have their C-form and other documentation ready because city officials will continue with the process next week,” said Lekgetho.
