Police concerned with children committing crime

Stats in Dobsonville show that children are involved in serious criminal activities.

Parents are advised to monitor their children’s whereabouts to help prevent them from committing crime.

This was said by Dobsonville police communications officer constable Mzwakhe Xazi who expressed concern regarding the arrests that were made between January and February.

61 child suspects were arrested between these periods.

Xazi said children commit serious crimes such as rape, murder and business robbery.

“It takes a whole village to raise a child, meaning society has a huge responsibility to play in raising a child,” said Xazi.

Xazi said the police are concerned about the future of these children and wish to encourage parents to monitor their children and take action before it is too late.
