Power reinstated in Soweto

Residents asked to be patient during power failure or outages.

Residents can breathe a sigh of relief as electricity has been reinstated in all areas of Soweto that were affected by power outages yesterday.

Eskom said that the areas which experienced problems included Molapo, Mapetla, Protea North, Dobsonville and Zola.

Gauteng spokesperson for Eskom, Reneiloe Semenya said that the problem was due to multiple failures on their system.

“Yesterday our technicians worked hard to try and restore electricity in the affected areas and in a short period of time. Now we are taking caution and will continue to ensure that we monitor the situation. Our plea to residents is that when we have power failure or outages, they should give our technicians space and time to work on the problem,” said Semenya.
