On Friday September 5, Faranani Primary School in Protea Glen held a beauty contest which aimed at fundraising and inspiring the pupils.
The school decided to take a break from academics and help pupils realise their talent because as much as education is important, it also has to include fun which helps them gain confidence.
“The event was marvellous and we decided to welcome spring through motivating learners and help them grow self-confidence,” said teacher Anna Nkuna.
The event included a lot of fun things such as the raffle, dance and performances by the pupils.
The contest had two categories of seniors and juniors and had two queens and two kings.
The pupils were excited and took the day as a Casual Day celebration hence most of them were dressed in blue.
