ATM tips to help you be safe

Don’t be prey to criminals.

With the rise in mall robberies over the past month, residents are urged to be more cautious at malls, especially at (Automated Transaction Machines) ATMs with their money and cards as the festive season approaches.

Below are tips that residents should follow at the bank to ensure their money and cards remain safe.

  • Always be alert.
  • Read ATM instructions carefully.
  • Stand close to the ATM machine.
  • Ask people to move away from you.
  • Do not be crowded.
  • Be aware of all strangers.
  • Never accept help from strangers and do not ask a stranger for help at an ATM.
  • Protect your pin.
  • Don’t forget your card at the ATM.
  • Report lost/stolen/swallowed cards immediately.

Remember to not leave the ATM if your card is swallowed until you have called your bank to block your card.
