The first set of Morutathuto Primary School prefects were inaugurated yesterday.
Principal of the school, Matshidiso Mashile said the leadership body, consisting of 12 Grade Seven pupils aims to curb bullying and littering on school grounds, vandalism to school property and misbehaving and late coming of pupils.
“The decision to have such a body comes with the operational plan by new management, including the School Governing Body.”
“The plan also aims to improve the quality of education in locals schools to prevent local children travelling to other towns for good education.”
The school has seen its enrolment numbers increase from 436 in 2014 to 536 this year due to measures taken in putting the school on the map.
Grade 11 pupil, Theresho Mashala, President of the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) at Letsibogo Girls High School was invited to give the 12 pupils guidance regarding leadership of pupils for a successful term.
