Waterval residents angry over conditions of flats
Leaking pipes remain a problem in the Westside area.
According to the flats tenants their pipes have never been replaced or renewed in any of the flats and this has now caused leakages in the flats.
“Water runs from the outside into our flats and then it also causes wall cracks, tiles loosening and a smell that cannot go away,” said a resident
Nadine Williams who owns her own flat and lives there for more than five years has been having the problem for quite a while now.
“I had to re- plaster my walls because of the cracks and my tiles keep on coming loose because the water comes from under the ground.
“There is a leakage through the walls coming from the top flats and this has just messed up my place,” said Williams.
The Department of Housing have issued reference numbers to the residents and will be rectifying the problem soon.
