An Orlando East woman is due to appear at the Protea Magistrate Court on charges related to dealing with drugs.
She was arrested by the Orlando police on Sunday this past weekend. Constable Monica Hangwani, communications officer at the police station said the arrest was made following a tip-off they received from residents.
“Police received a tip-off about a woman who was selling drugs at Hlatshwayo Street. When they arrived at the said address, the women ran and locked herself in the house.
“Police forcefully opened the door and asked to search the house. 18 packs of dagga wrapped in newspaper and 50 tablets written ‘boss star’ were found in the house,” said Hangwani.
The woman was then arrested and is due in court. Police thank the cooperation by residents which made the arrest possible.
