Pimville: Bringing the five star lifestyle to kasi

“The idea of starting a business just came to us. I believe it's something that runs in the family.”

The Mafole ladies, Disebo (29), Tshepi (26) and Josephine (39) came up with an idea of opening Tshepi’s Joint restaurant a few weeks ago in Pimville Zone 2.

The three ladies had to transform a place that was not in a good state to something modernised.

“Our restaurant is completely different from other restaurants in the community because we tried to bring the high standard atmosphere to the community, which is something that is rare in Soweto,’’ said Disebo.

The three ladies did not plan to start Tshepi’s Joint but it just happened unexpectedly.

“The idea of starting a business just came to us. I believe it’s something that runs in the family,” said Tshepi.

Apart from the qualifications they have – they realised that starting a business would be something worthwhile since they are passionate about.

Since they are organised people – they each play a role in the business with Tshepi and Disebo being the shareholders and marketers, Josephine serving as a co- founder and an accountant.

A classy setup at the restaurant.

“Our aim is to make this restaurant a tourist attraction, to see people handling their meetings and to see anyone that wants to enjoy themselves formally,” said Josephine.

So far they have experienced 60% passerby’s walking into their restaurant and they believe that it is because of their good service and engagement that they offer to their customers.

In three years to come, they would love to see their restaurant growing and they hope to open more branches across Soweto.
