Reaching out to children in need

Riverlea Extension Against Child Hunger (Reach).

Riverlea Extension Against Child Hunger (Reach), a non-profit organisation (NPO) in partnership with Wilhelmina Hoskins Primary School hosted a one-week holiday programme.

According to the chairperson, Masha van Wyk, Reach accommodated 200 children in an effort to keep them safe and to provide them with an education during the school holidays.

Their main aim was to help the kids read and have fun which was a huge success, according to Reach manager, Glen van Heerden.

“The organisation is grateful to all the sponsors who made everything possible and also putting a smile on the faces of each child during the programme.

“Reach would like to thank all the companies like Blue Ribbon, Gbs Brick Sales, Taahir’s Butchery, Zora Incorporated, Riverlea Taxi Association, NGV Gas and individual donors for their support,” said van Wyk.
