Operation Fiela 2.

The Eldorado Park SAPS has solved a murder case after the victim was shot in Kersiedorp. On December 18, 2017, members of the Eldos SAPS arrested a 51-year-old suspect for murder.

Upon further investigation, it has led to the arrest of another three suspects who are all aged in their late thirties. The suspects were all detained in the Eldos SAPS holding cells.

According to captain Phillemon Khorombi, then spokesperson of the Eldorado Park SAPS, said, “Our members were patrolling the area when they were stopped by a member of the community who had informed them that someone had been shot in Kersiedorp in Sirkoon Street, Eldorado Park.

“They immediately proceeded to the scene and on arrival, they found the victim inside his vehicle. The victim was suddenly rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

“Unfortunately, the victim had died later. The initial investigation led to the arrest of the 51-year-old suspect. The other three suspects were arrested by our station tracing team. The detectives were working around the clock in order to bring the perpetrators to book.”

The station commander, Brigadier Pieter Van Dyk applauded the members who were involved in the arrest for their sterling performance.

January 23 marked the official launch of Operation Fiela Two in Johannesburg, where Minister Fikile Mbalula officially launched the operation.

The operation will deal with drugs, drug lords and drug runners where these people will be targeted by all law enforcement agencies.

It will also deal with undocumented foreigners as well as human trafficking.

The police would like to ensure the community that constant operations will continue and crime intelligence operations will be done to ensure a drug-free community.
