Empowering women through sport

Spinning-a sport where participants drive their cars at high speed and make them drift in patterns- is commonly known as a mens, sport especially in the location.

Soweto Drift Academy is on a quest to empower women through a spinning programme called Spina LeBeema Gal.

It will be launched at FNB Stadium on Women’s Day.

The initiative is aimed at training women mechanics, advanced driving, road safety and how to professionally spin cars.
Drift is also planning on launching an annual league for women next year January.

DA Shadow minister of Sport Tsepo Mhlongo has welcomed the initiative and added that it will will promote motorsport in the location.

Spina LeBeema Gal are still open to help in the form of sponsors on that particular day
