Rhulani Mabasa Children’s Foundation in need of a shipping container
RMCF creates a balance between sports and education as many schools also encourage this among learners.
Sports alone is not enough to develop a child, education plays a big role in the development of a child and the Rhulani Mabasa Children’s Foundation out to do exactly that. The foundation needs a shipping container which will be converted into a library to be used for educational purposes.
According to Rhulani Mabasa, sports and education go hand in hand.
Mabasa said they plan to create a balance between sports and education as many schools also encourage this among learners.
The organisation itself has been doing an amazing job in the community as it has also introduced different sporting codes such as hockey and golf.

The organisation has also opened its doors to the community since on Sundays they host soccer games and a bit of entertainment for children.
Mabasa added that not every child is passionate about sports, others are passionate about book reading, maths and science and we also want to cater to them too.
“Even those who love sports need to know that education is a key to being a successful sporting woman and man,” added Mabasa.
He continued to say that parents will be rest assured that their children’s education is also being looked after since an aftercare programme will soon start.
“Not all parents from our communities help their children in terms of writing homework – so the shipping container will be their resource centre where they will also conduct their research work and do their homework.
“The centre will cater to every child and we want to develop future doctors, pilots, authors not only soccer players,” said Mabasa.
Mabasa is gratefull to Cell C for previously donating a shipping container which was later converted to a fully functional kitchen by the Belgian flemish government.
Managing Executive Corporate Social Investment at Cell C Suzettevan der Merwe said “We are hugely impressed with what Rhulani and his team have achieved and can see the difference they are making in lives of children in the area. They have worked incredibly hard to transform and we are delighted that once again we can help them in their journey to transform lives.”
“We challenge the cooperate world to assist us with a shipping container to be used for educational purposes,” said Mabasa.
