House engulfed in flames at Central Western Jabavu
The Cala family lost everything in the fire.
The Cala family in Central Western Jabavu lost their home to a fire yesterday around 03:00 am. The fire started when a curtain in a bedroom in the house caught fire.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Nomthandazo Cala said, “We’ve lost all our documents and everything we have. It’s still unbelievable and I don’t know how will I feel when I’m alone because I feel numb now. What killed me is to see my house in flames.”
Joburg EMS spokesperson Nana Radebe said that earlier this morning around 4:05am the City of Joburg EMS responded to a structural fire at Jabavu, Soweto.
“Two fire engines were dispatched and found the house well alight. Fortunately no fatalities or injuries reported and the cause of the fire could not be determined.”
