Career day at Everest Primary School in Newclare
Through this event, the educators wanted to encourage the learners to follow in the fields that they desire to be in.
Everest Primary School hosted their very first Career Day for their Grade 7 learners. The aim of the career day was for the learners to come dressed in their aspiring professions attire and to showcase their stalls created by themselves.

Guest speakers that were there on the day were from various fields and they are as follows: Captain Matshaba from the Sophiatown police station accompanied by Constable Tumelo.

Vivienne Abrahams from Aliveriots, all the way from Eldorado Park; Belincia George who is a businesswoman and CEO of Image Coaching Gingerly, she was also a finalist in Mrs Common Wealth 2017, Mureeda Jadvat and Fatima Farred from The Ubuntu Addiction Community Trust (UACT) School Program, Tharollo Seatlholo the Executive Chairperson of KSF Foundation and Leandi Macmaneveldt who is a social worker for Region B.
Each speaker spoke about who they are and gave an overview of what they do in their fields. Macmaneveldt emphasized that learners should not chase money but rather go into their fields of passion as it is passion that will continue to sustain them as individuals through it all.

The career day had a few entertainment sessions where there was dancing, poetry and singing rendered by the learners.
Once everything was done, learners all went to their career stalls and showcased what they created. The Grade 7 learners were assessed based on their presentations.
