Nhlanhla Malaza found himself one-on-one with the keeper and he finished clinically to bring Kudus back the game. Just minutes later, a scramble in the box left Antoine Hittler facing an empty net, and the Wits striker managed to bumble it home to complete the comeback.

Just before the final whistle, Wits’ Sibusiso Dlamini pounced on to a loose from the Spurs’ keeper and put the final nail on the coffin with an easy tap in.

Speaking to Soweto Urban After the match, Wits Kudus coach, Mathew Jeorge said he was proud of the character shown by his side.

“Its great character that they’ve shown today. It shows the team spirit. We started poorly, conceded the goal, but I’m very happy with how we came back in the second half. Solid performance,” he said.

On title hopes, Jeorge said he was aiming for first place.
“We’re in a good position to fight for it (1st place) so like all the other teams we’ll be looking to do that,” he said.

At the opposite corner, Super Spurs coach, Themba Buthelezi felt the match officials had failed to manage the game.

“We started well, but I think the officiating disturbed the flow of the game. Some of the decisions that went against us were, at the very least, questionable. Of course, we’ll be looking to improve but the officiating today was disappointing,” said Buthelezi.
