Eight police officers case postpone to March, 16
The case was postponed to March, 16 and the suspects remanded to Kliptown cells.
The eight(8) police officers arrested yesterday by The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID/the Directorate) appeared at the Protea Magistrate Court yesterday.
According to an update released by the IPID spokesperson, Ms. Ndileka Cola the case was placed on the roll, and the accused were charged with murder, 3 counts of torture, and defeating the hands of justice.
The case was postponed to March, 16 and the suspects remanded to Kliptown cells. Cola mentioned that an ID parade is to be conducted on other cases.
IPID arrested eight police officers on, 01 March 2021 for allegedly murdering and torturing suspects whilst they were in police custody, arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearm and dagga.
