While it’s still early days, Diepkloof Ladies may have reason to believe they can lift the title. The Sowetan outfit has put in an impressive shift in the Gauteng Sasol Women’s League so far. Diepkloof Ladies is sitting in 3rd place after 7 matches played and are undefeated in their last 6 matches.

The girls from Diepkloof kicked off their 2021 campaign on the back foot, suffering a 2-1 loss to Croesus Ladies on opening day.

The impressive form was not exclusive to home games – DK ladies hammered Hallelujah Zebra Force 4-0 away in Soshanguve.

After playing to a stalemate against Vaal University of Technology on Saturday, the trip to Kempton Park will be a crucial one for Diepkloof Ladies as they try to catch up to undefeated Croesus Ladies and Wits University who sneaked into 2nd place after beating Nicko Taurus 3 – 1 over the weekend.

Neighbours and rivals, Soweto Fabulous will try and get their season back on track when they host Blue Birds Ladies Football Academy at the Jabavu Stadium on Sunday.
