Man(33) shoots ex-girlfriend in Protea Glen

The suspect is said to be residing in different hostels such as Dube, Jabulani, and Nancefield.

A 33-year-old man who is believed to be from Dundee in KwaZulu Natal is wanted for the attempted murder of a 33-year-old woman from Protea Glen Extension 24.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 17. The suspect was alleged with the victim, who was his ex-girlfriend. They were in the victim’s house when he was begging her to take him back.

“When the woman refused, he pulled out a firearm. He allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend several times on her upper body. The victim managed to push him away and ran outside screaming for help. The suspect then followed her to the street. When he noticed that residents were approaching his direction, he ran away on foot. The victim was rushed to Milpark Hospital for treatment,” said Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng.

A warrant of arrest for the man was issued by the Protea Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, August 25.

The suspect is said to be residing in different hostels such as Dube, Jabulani, and Nancefield. “Please don’t approach the suspect as he is armed and very dangerous,” added Mashiteng.
