Miss IFP 2023 honors the legacy of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi
The winner, Jabulile Mkhonza said her experience and journey was wonderful as she got a chance to learn about herself and admire who she is.
The IFP Youth Brigade hosted the Miss IFP 2023 pageant in honour of the legacy of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

The event was held at the Soweto Theatre this past weekend where 23 finalists from across the province vied for the crown.
According to Dalsy Manganyi, Gauteng Youth Brigade Chairperson, the purpose of the pageant was to groom young women and give them a platform to be educated about politics with the aim that one day they will be placed in higher political positions.
“When I was elected chairperson of the IFP Youth Brigade I saw that women are not usually selected for higher political position, so with this pageant I am grooming women who will one day follow in my footsteps and serve the country,” said Manganyi.

The pageant was open to young women aged between 17 and 25. The purpose is to get a brand ambassador for all IFP programmes including mental health, substance abuse and other social issues.
The winner, Jabulile Mkhonza said her experience and journey was wonderful as she got a chance to learn about herself and admire who she is.
She also learned to interact with people and allowed herself to come out of her comfort zone.
“I feel nervous because this was not something I was expecting. However I did have positive support from my family and friends and I am so excited,” said Mkhonza.
Miss IFP 2023 is expected to encourage other young girls to pursue their dreams and inspire confidence.

Other winners include Nosihle Mayeza who was crowned as the first princess and Thando Dhlamini, the second princess.
“The pageant plans to bring change in communities by supporting female talent in the province and promote moral values and self-confidents,” concluded Manganyi.
