News of the passing of kwaito legend Mapaputsi has sent shockwaves across Mzansi. Real name Sandile Ngwenya, Mapaputsi passed away on Thursday, September 5 after an unconfirmed illness.
His family confirmed the news of his death through a media statement released on Friday afternoon. Born and bred in Zola, Soweto, Mapaputsi was an award winning kwaito pioneer best known for his hit Izinja.
Throughout his career he has worked and shared the stage with other big kwaito stars including the likes of TKZee, Chiskop, Sbu Maloya and many others.
