Murder suspect appears in court
The police are still investigating the motive behind the incident.
A 32-year-old man facing charges for the murder of a 40-year-old man in Thembelihle, Lenasia, appeared in the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on April 10.
His appearance comes after the police were alerted to a male body lying in a pool of blood on the street at about 08:30 on April 7.
Joburg district corporate communication Lieutenant Colonel Mpho Tshetlhane said the SAPS swiftly reacted to the scene and, upon arrival, found the deceased stabbed in the throat.

“Information officers gathered at the scene was then operationalised and led to the suspect’s arrest. The motive behind the incident is not yet known. Police investigations continue,” said Tshetlhane.
Acting district commissioner Brigadier Koena Moichela thanked the officers for their swift reaction and commitment to ensuring the community’s safety and security.
