Braamfischerville residents warned of a three-day water disruption in December

Braamfischerville residents are advised to prepare for a planned three-day water supply disruption from December 19 to 21 due to maintenance work at the Eikenhof Power Station.

Residents of Braamfischerville have been urged to take precautions ahead of a scheduled three-day water disruption later this month.

The City has confirmed that water supply interruptions will occur from December 19 to 21 while essential valve maintenance is carried out at the Eikenhof Power Station, which supplies water to Braamfischerville and several other areas in Soweto.

Ward 44 Councillor Velaphi Tefo said the timing of the disruption coincides with the festive season, when many households will be hosting functions and family gatherings.

He advised residents to store sufficient water in advance to minimise inconvenience.

“Residents should continue to use water sparingly during this period and ensure they have enough stored for daily needs,” Tefo said.

The City encourages residents to stay informed through official communication channels for updates and any changes to the maintenance schedule.
