Planned power outage to hit Eldorado Park

Maintenance work at Eldorado Park Substation will interrupt electricity supply across several affected areas on April 30.

City Power (CP) has announced planned maintenance work at the Eldorado Park Substation under the Lenasia Service Delivery Centre (Region G).

The maintenance is scheduled for April 30 from 08:00 to 16:00 and will result in a temporary power interruption.

The outage will affect Devland, Freedom Park, the whole of Eldorado Park, Kliptown, Klipspruit West, Avalon Cemetery and Goudkoppies.

CP said the planned maintenance forms part of its ongoing programme to maintain, repair and strengthen the electricity network.

The utility noted that infrastructure is affected over time by ageing, overloading, weather conditions and external damage.

CP added that planned maintenance allows for the early detection and repair of faults, replacement of deteriorating equipment, improvement of network capacity and a more stable electricity supply.

Meanwhile, planned maintenance at Central Substation in the Inner City SDC (Region F), which was scheduled for April 28, has been postponed until further notice.

CP reminded customers of the scheduled interruption during the maintenance period.
