City of Johannesburg launches comprehensive service delivery open day initiative

The City of Johannesburg will host its inaugural Service Delivery Open Day in Naturena on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to address community concerns, provide various services, and foster a customer-centric approach.

According to Kgamanyane Maphologela, Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, the City will offer a range of services, including:

– Assistance with account payments
– Pensioner rebates
– Expanded Social Package (ESP) registration
– Expert advice from billing, refunds, rates, valuations, legal, back office, front office, ESP, City Power, and Joburg Water

“The City’s various departments and entities will engage with customers, address account issues, and provide solutions,” Maphologela emphasized.

MMC for Finance, Margaret Arnolds, highlighted the importance of customer satisfaction citing that customers want value for money.

“ Our goal is to make our customers happy, and in return, they will pay their accounts. We will work with Eskom to resolve overbilling and prepaid meter recording issues.”

Arnolds further emphasized that the City will ensure its officials are responsive to residents’ needs.

“Days of running away from doing your job are gone. We will attend to customer concerns promptly and efficiently.”

Future Open Days are planned across the city to respond to residents’ concerns and educate them about City programs.
