Police units clamp down on crime in Joburg and Eldos
Two men were apprehended, one after being a wanted suspect and one after fleeing during a patrol.
A successful arrest was made by the Anti-Gang Unit of a suspect on April 20.
The suspect was wanted for murder and attempted murder in connection with a recent case in Sophiatown.
Acting swiftly on credible information, the AGU struck at the suspect’s location.
Upon arrival, the team was able to arrest the suspect who has since taken been taken to a local police station for detention.

In a separate incident, during a patrol in Eldorado Park, AGU members noticed a male fleeing towards a residence along Virgo Street in Freedom Park.
The team promptly intervened and got permission to search the individual. During the search, eight zip lock bags containing brown tablets suspected to be mandrax as well as eight zip lock bags containing what was believed to be crystal meth were found.
Both suspects are detained and are expected to appear in their respective courts soon.
