International karate organisation gives classes

Karate classes from an international recognised organisation.

Karate has become one of the hobbies that could become a life saver in a deadly encounter.

“We teach traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu and we belong to an organisation known as the International Kenbu / Kenpo Kai Kobudo Organisation (IKKO),” said Mark Apollos

The organisation is under the leadership of Imtiaz Abdullah who is rank of seventh Dan which is a rank in the karate industry.

They have international affiliation and recognition directly linked to Okinawa Japan, not many organisations have such an association.

At the Bills Jardine Stadium classes on a Tuesday and Thursday for Black Belts from 7pm to 9:30pm.

Classes in Riverlea at the Recreation Center on the following days:

Tuesday and Thursday – 5:30pm to 6:45pm

Saturday – 9am to 11pm

At the Coronation Recreation Hall we will have classes on a Wednesday 7:30pm to 8:30pm.

“We will host a karate tournament scheduled for the April 5 at the Coronation Recreation Center.

“This is a friendly provincial tournament that will be used to select a development squad to represent South Africa in the international event known as the African Koshiki Karate Championship due to be held in July,” said Apollos.
