Soweto All Stars player scoops awards at Discovery Challenge
Stars’ front man, Thato Moeti believes he is good enough to play for any club in the PSL.
After scooping the top goal scorer and player of the tournament at the Walter Sisulu Discovery Challenge, Soweto All Stars goal poacher, Thato Moeti believes that it is his passion and dedication that earned him those achievements.
The 23-year-old player from Zola said football has been his childhood dream since the age of five and enjoys playing in front of big crowds.
His team won the 12th edition of the Discovery Challenge which was played over the festive season and attracted more than 8 000 spectators.
He was one of the crowd pleaser and impressed a number of Premier Soccer League club scouts.
“I believe I am good enough to play for any club in the PSL.
“Football is about hard work, passion and a bit of luck and I think the luck is yet to come on my side but I will continue working hard and doing what I do best for my team because it is only a matter of time before a team identifies me,” said the tricky front-man.
The Discovery Challenge took place at the Nike Training Centre in Klipspruit from December 1 and attracted players such as Sifiso Myeni, Morgan Gould, Thuso Phala and Siyanda Xulu.
Bafana Bafana head coach, Shakes Mashba and his assistant Thabo Senong were among the coaches who came to enjoy the football.
The final day of the tournament saw South African Schools Football Association president, Mandla “Shoes” Mazibuko gracing the event.
